I'm 6'8" 300#
I going to build a "man sized" stand up scooter/kart.
Think Zappy three wheeler.
Powerd by golf cart motor and 4 full sized batteries.
Golf cart wheels, Harley front. w/brakes.
Total GVWR +/- 700#
Question:
Will DIY karts/scooter parts be strong enough or do I need to use golf cart bearings, parts etc etc? I'm having no luck getting in touch with mini-chopper parts people. Guess they think I'm nutz.

I'm bigger than you, I used 1" axles from northerntool, no suspension, holds up great, I use it for offroad.. the batteries cause concern though, they add another 80-100lbs, plus the electric motors 30+lbs at least I'd imagine. if you use suspension that would help with impact loads.. I'm assuming for on road/pavement use, I would look at golfcart parts as they are designed for 400+lbs of people and the batteries and motors... if you use go cart parts, I'd figure out a suspension, or use balloon style tires. sounds like a fun project.

Ohh yeah that pillowblocks can hold ALOT of weight. The ones i have can hold a couple thousand. The bearing can hold more weight than the shaft can even handle
