building a cart for my son

I've been working on a cart for my sons 4th birthday. Wifey wasn't real inthused but I think instead of battery power they need gas power. batteries last an hour at most and take all day to charge, gas cart just needs to refuel. For this cart i took an old flat chassis and completely reconfigured it. I changed it from a 2 seater to a single seat in the center and bent and welded full roll cage that looks like a sprint car chassis now. I'm actually thinking about putting a body on it now since i do sheet metal work for a living. i will try to post some pics of the progress. Any ideas would be great.

Might as well power it for when he is older and restrict it for now.

That's what I did. I put a 5.5 Briggs on my 6 year old's kart and just throttled it back for him until he gets the hang of things

I think that would still be too fast for a 5 year old without a restrictor.

he will probebly have to put a jackshaft on it
