Thanks for the feedback

The frame was primered because it sat outside all winter and I was trying to keep the rust to a minimum, that's why it looked like S**t. About the handleing that's my biggest concern, I made the frame longer (just did it because i'm 6 ft and thought I needed more leg room) before I did more research about the frontend all that comes with wheelbase length, ackerman and bumpsteer ect. so I was in too deep to change things up. I just hope this thing dosen't have a turning radius bigger than my truck. But you live and learn so now that I have all of the speciallty stuff (engine, brakes ,steering and suspension) I can make changes to the next frame, you need to remember this is my first attempt at anything like this. I may be older then most of you out here but I'm learning as I go too.(45)

Live and learn! Now you have a good idea of how to do it all so if this fails on you you can easily go back to the drawing board! I hope it works out good though because that is one sweet looking kart!!

Here are the pics that I took this morning. Video coming soon hopefully. There hasn't been much of a change since the last pics except for the steering wheel and the throttle cable. The kart has a 9 hp clone with a tc and a 60t sproket for a 6:1 ratio should go about 32 mph and as far as I can tell it does. This kart started life out as a Grandaddy from spider karts, but I changed my mind and changed it to an arachnid, streched it and widened it, and someother mods. The dash and the steering is from the grandaddy plans, everything else was taken from other pics on their web site. I made the throttle linkage both on the pedal and the engine, on my own form spare parts. I raised the front shock mounts up and made a support across the top of both shocks for stability. The seat came out of our rv and I put a cover on it. The diamond plate was scrap from work, the only thing I don't like about the plate is it is noisy when it vibrates. All in all I"m pretty pleased with the kart for my first time building something like this.

That thing is awesome! Is the chain going to rub on the piece going across by the engine?

one of your rear tire's tread direction is backwards. your local tire shop will happily flip it around for you for a few bucks (possibly for free if you call around a bit and find a nice one).

nice looking build, can't wait to see a video of it in action!

I was wondering if anyone would notice that tire. I only need to flip it around on the hub the rim has equal offset and the valve stem is on the inside.

The chain only touches the cross bar only a little bit, it does flop around some.

Getting in and out is very easy even with the dash, the seat does move forward but I need it all the way back. A shorter driver might have a harder time but I don't know.

Come to think of it I might have to put a tensioner of some sort on the chain, I already have a half link in the chain and it needs to be in there. Raising the engine will work but I think a tensioner would be better.

To reduce the floow plate vibration, just put some insulation in between the chassis or just weld all around. Insulation could be as cheap as plastic wrap. As long as it doesn't promote moisture buildup, all good.
At one point I had vibration that was knocking paint off!

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!! My brother and I are jealous... and you even got it painted up nice and everything! Looks like so much fun. I so wish we could drive ours... if only we had just made ONE instead of TWO! We would be done now. Quick question: How are you shocks doing on bumps? Are you satisfied? Any suggestions? Shocks are our last addition. Once again: Nice work!!

I've only driven it on gravel roads around here so far, I hope to ride on some trails this weekend. So far the shocks are just fine, they are the cheap ones from northern tool. I may up grade in the future but for now all is good.

I'm still going to try to post a video today from my wifes iphone so bear with me, but it is complete and running just fine.

As any project it is never really done because there will always be modifications and improvments and fixing what breaks so for now that is it, finished. If you guys have any questions let me know and I will anwser them as they come in.

I spent about a $1000 but that includes all welding wire, nuts, bolts, paint and any other shop supplies, now remember I started with nothing not even a chop saw. This was my first build ever and it won't be my last, it was a blast!!!
