Brand new red pedal I see... 😏
Where did you get the centrifugal clutch? How many teeth?

1. Put the spring [green] on the other side, and wrap the bottom loop around the pivot tube?

2. I would put the cable eyelet [orange] on the other side and use a shoulder bolt (a bolt with an unthreaded portion) so the eyelet can pivot on it and not get chewed up by threads.

3. I might put the eyelet on a lower hole on the pedal so the angle on the cable where it exits the cable conduit is not so severe and chafes itself.

Make sure the pedal pivots loosely and freely, almost a bit wobbly. A bit of grease inside the pivot tube is a good idea.

I will try first light. What about the clutch? CAn i add more washers or is that a bad idea? So to bug you on Saturday. And is there a simple way to fix the end of spring to frame to keep from moving with wobbly pedal? I was thinking a screw but that would look horrible and probably not last long. I did get seat done! Think it looks pretty good.

And a 60 tooth sprocket. It's much more narrow than the original 54 tooth sprocket. Old one has some worn teeth but if you think its usable I will and just get a new clutch and a #40 chain.

Too funny! This kart will have me at the bottom of a bottle of Jack Daniel's in no time! At least This project has given me a excuse to buy some new tools.

We love seeing progress on karts and such. Skip the JD, Makers Mark at least. lol.

Any more details on the upholstery? We don't get much of that around here.

Just replaced the broken board replaced the foam. I used same material. It was in pretty good shape. A lot of cleaner and scrubbing. Also got some adhesive no slip from Walmart online to go on the floor pan. Im afraid I'm going to ruin my grandson teaching him on a kart that has red throttle and a black painted brake. Lol. Should be cutting the brush guard cross pipes as soon as the 3/4" brackets you guys found for me come in. Once I get this engine situated it should go pretty quick. Shoot. I may have time to do another one. Haha

I didn't know you were working on the seat. You did a good job.

You can use the old wheel sprocket if you need to, I never throw anything away unless it's all used up.

Keep moving the clutch outward until it lines up with sprocket. But what if it doesn't? That's what kills me because not everything is a drop-in replacement. Most engines of this general size have mounting holes that line up with existing mounting holes on equipment, like a 6.5 HP Predator can go a garden tiller that had a 5 HP Briggs flathead because the mounting holes line up, but that does not mean the engine shaft will line up with the drive pulley, like on your go kart. :mad2:

I have an idea for the end of the pedal spring. Drill a small hole for it at the long arrow. The end of the spring [short arrow] can go inside it once you move the spring to the other side of the pedal.

Awesome man! It looks like a brand new seat. Amazing how good seat material can out last the wood and such. Great job redoing the seat. Good time to see if your grandson has common sense. :ROFLMAO:
