Absolutely. :2guns:

I chose to run a centrifugal clutch instead of a tc. Mostly because $33 vs $140 + jackshaft , and ease of installation.

I got one with 10t on the clutch, then I will raise the axle sprocket to
60t +.

Should have plenty of kick in the 10-15mph "drift zone"

My cart now has over 1400cc's

Thanks!

I am getting the drift / wheelie machine ready

I fixed the frame , shortened it , and redid the front end.

Coming together!

I am having some fuel pump issues.

At first I used the pulse from the block, like factory.

I could not get fuel to the carb.

(I filled the bowl , let it run until its out. )

So I tried moving it to the intake.

Still no. It tries, but cannot make it all the way to the pump.

Its a single outlet mikuni.

Are these pumps better as pushers, or pullers?

Or is mine in need of re-build?

I dont want to, but I may need to move the pump at tank level.

Opinions?

I think you either put the tank level with/higher than the carb, or else get an electric pump.

Electric pump would be easy. Did not think about that.

I dont know. It seems like between pulses, the fuel falls back down. Maybe if there was a check valve at the bottom, it would be able to get fuel up.

The tank is there because , well, where else can ya put it.

Electric will probably be the answer.

I am excited to see this come together. Well done.

Thanks !

Well I bought a battery to put somewhere.

The clutch came in. Yes I will put a bolt in the end. Hopefully it lasts , its only 13hp rated. Buts thats just a suggestion.

I got an ebay fuel pump on the way so time to wire it all up.

The pulse pumps on these engines are usually set up as "pullers" as you say, with the pump mounted right to the engine. My Briggs twin has the same type of rectangular pump, and the tractor it was on had the fuel tank under the seat, so it SHOULD have plenty of oomph to suck the fuel from the tank where you have it.

Your electric pump will be better as a "pusher" and should be mounted someplace below the fuel level to help it prime.

Also hopefully your pump is low enough pressure. 2 psi is usually the max ideal on small engines like this, as more than that can overcome the float valve and flood the carb. Though the Mikuni might deal with it better than a normal Briggs carb.

This is the scariest vehicle I have ever drove.

Even with a 5 to 1 gear ratio, it drifts so easy. Drift and doughnut machine.

The carb is still not 100%, so no wheelies yet. Off the line it stumbles. WOT it goes insane.

Nice gas tank! Just couldn't wait, could you?

I wouldn't have been able to either.

Next thing you need is a 40 series. That thing would fly. You'd be at something like 13:1 at engagement, and 4.5:1 wide open. Clutch probably won't last long anyway.

Yeh I could not wait anymore.
After I burnout the current clutch ill go 40series.

It will be stupid with the tc, but id need to extend the frame or something to fit it.

I dont have a cameraman now, and cant drive with one hand.
But this thing on grass can get the tires spinning at 20mph sideways .

Electric pump works great.

Got it wired up. New seat.

I fixed the carb. It was running too rich, So I figured Id take it apart and fill the main jet with solder , and drill it.

Took it apart to find out it has no jet at all! So I made one and It runs like a champ now.

Within 10min I was drifting on pavement around a cul-de-sac , and rolled it hard.
Only damage was the carb got ripped out, messed up the filter, dented the shroud, and dented one of the mufflers. And got my elbow good.

But It can shred tires on pavement! Mission success!

I need to get me a cheap roller and a Chinese 40 series and bolt it up.
