Your spring could be worn, what i did with mine a few times after extreme overheating, was cut a few coils off the spring. It helped ALOT, never took off at idle again.

the engine probably shakes due to poor motor mounts or low very idle, try turning your idle screw in 1 turn. Why do you need a chain breaker? You can still remove the clutch

yup. when you looser your motor mounts (usually FOUR 1/2" bolts) see if their are any rubber Washers in between the motor and the mount, if not go buy some, will stop the shaking.

well i have no idea what a master link is so i dont know if i have one. and i am pretty sure there aren't any of those rubber washers on there but i think we might have some. how thick should they be?

This is a master link. If you push out the side with the cut on it, you can take it off. Behind the master link is a little chain plate and then take out the other side. Chain is then off. Also how bad does it shake? mine shaked because of the badd clutch. If I am correct, when you put the kart on the ground and try to start it with the throtte applied a bit, it will start and shake then die right? If so, you broke a little piece in the clutch.

vgk is correct on the master link. Don't know about the clutch causing the shake, but it definitely could contribute. Since you don't have any rubber washers on trier to absorb the shake, it definitely will shake. I would use 1/8" thick rubber washers or larger. Should make the ride a lot more comfy :)

im definitely going to get some of those washers, if i use 1/8" will i have to add any chain to keep the right tensions or is 1/8" to small to effect it? i'll have to look for the master link tomorrow as i am busy today.

it might make your chain a little tighter, i don't think you will need any more chain

Yea right! you wouldn't loose rpm. I did this to my kart and nothing happened, except it took all the vibration away.

You will lose RPM, on this scale, it may only be a few, but technically you will. Making statements like that, with no facts to back it up makes you look like a complete ***.

I cant imagine 1/8" rubber washers will do much, and i wouldn't even bother, its likely the ground will shake your kart more than the engine once your moving anyways.
