CHECK IT!
When I saw the upright design, my heart skipped a beat!
$170 from Surplus Center, 19 left in stock.
Not a killer deal, but for a hassle free brand new flathead, it's pretty darn cool!
It's got a standard straight 3/4" PTO, so it's not hard to find a clutch for it.
Looks like a pneumatic governor and bowl type carb, as well as the older ratchet style starter.
Plus it's got dual oil filler plugs, which are nice.
These are discontinued by Briggs BTW.
:cheers2:
EDIT - Darn it, the images are tiny.

Too spendy for me especially when there's still tons out there in garage sales across the land.
But a good heads-up and a reminder for those of us who had already seen the ad but weren't nearly so excited by it.... :)

That 10HP Tecumesh is nothing you'd want, with that step-down and tapered crankshaft.

Yeah, I wouldn't either, especially given that shipping must be ridiculous!
Plus, the older style flatheads just have a magical look to them, and plastic just ruins it.

Picked this flatty up for $75 on eBay. $20 to ship. Like new. Thinking about a purple taco minibike like i had as a kid.

I agree I like the classic look with the flat metal air cleaner. This at least has the metal tank but a later EPA fuel cap. So it is close. The 4hp rating seemed weird with it not being a big block. I seem to recall owning a 4hp that was a big block? I also have a few of the late 40's early 50's iron blocks that were pretty low in hp and rounded. Maybe a doodle bug type early minibike soon?
