Bought a kart, can you identify it?

I just picked up this little kart for a bargain at $60

Can anyone tell me what I have here?

I don't really know, but it looks like a good deal!
It's even got front springer spindles!
It looks like a Honda/Honda clone engine, probably a Predator 212cc.
I think it is some sort of Manco, but I'm not sure.
Can we see some more pics with it outside of the truck bed?

Model will be on that silver decal on the floor.

I would check out those front tires/wheels. They look like wheelbarrow wheels.

Thanks guys, I have it in my storage unit now, but I'll get better pics and check the silver decal when I bring it to the car port.

This is my second kart, you can see my first in the pics, a kartco pathwinder from when I was a kid. Going to refresh both of them.

I can see from that engine that it might be a hemi 212? It also has a red cover so it might be Honda or from a generator, though that's unlikely. Great find though!

Yeah I think the red recoil cover is a replacement off amazon, I have bought the same before. Some previous owner took the gas tank off the engine and hung a big replacement on the roll cage there.

It's a Manco model 415, sometimes known as a Critter II.
$60 is a bargain. Make sure you pat yourself on the back.

Not a fan of the enormous gas tank up high but maybe the previous owner liked really long run times? (Or he's related to JTSpunkWagon).....

Agree it's a 415, but not a D unless that bracket over the right rear was added later.

Not without modification. Probably wouldn't fit behind the seat (and inside the rear framing) because they're huge. Why would you want to?

Most of these karts were designed for lower HP, vertical flathead engines (Briggs/Tecumseh) or the later OHV Tecumseh PowerSport engines which were near-vertical and didn't require such a large mounting 'footprint'.

We have one and I wouldn't try it. It's a bit squirrely at speed already. That and you'll go through a ton of drive tires.

Yeah that's kind of what I figured. I have a mini bike with a 212cc predator, it is fun and feels over powered even with an adult rider. I just didnt know if a kart would be the same. Maybe I'll do a 212 with a torque converter

That Manco is still a traditional kart more or less and not a buggy/ATV/hybrid with all the suspension and extra weight. It's still pretty small and nimble.

Ours is a 5hp, totally stock. I hit 28mph with my fat a$$ driving. We have the tires like in Hellion's post, so they get bouncy real quick. It would be more stable I think with turf tires. You still feel the speed, though. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between it and the 388, although it walking away from the 415 was the only reason I knew it was faster.

Those wheels look like the ubiquitous Harbor Freight dolly wheels, don't they?

Yes they are and one of the hubs is already broken so those wheels will be the first thing to be replaced. Are there any good front wheel options that wont break the bank?
