Check float and needle. Float level may be off causing a rich (or lean) condition aggravated by 'off roading'. Just a possibility.
A diaphragm carb might be something to consider.

My B/S 5hp (with stock carb)did this, if I got too aggressive from a roll/stop it would die, had to ease into the throttle.

I had the same problem on a kart I had. It would be fine on the road but once I got offroad it would go like heck and then bog then rev then bog. You know what I did then......got rid of that tejunkseh and put a older briggs on. Never had that prob again.:wai: Why couldn't the EPA leave them carbs alone-can't adjust nothing but the idle anymore.

kind of similar problem-not quite tho

i have a yerf 3203-tecumseh 6.5 and the other night the float got stuck and when i put gas in the tank-it just flooded the carb and leaked out the intake. I took the bowl off the bottom and wiggled the float and it freed up and moved smoothly. Put it back together and started it up-it held gas and drove for about 80 yards then died. took the bowl back off again and hosed everything down w/carb cleaner, but didnt take anything off-it was dark and i couldnt see what i was doin really and honestly-i dont know much about karts right yet so i didnt 100% know how to take the float off. i start the kart up and it immediatly cuts off. if im quick enuff to grab the throttle, and ease it up a lil bit, it may stay runnin for a second, then cut off-if i rev it up-it stalls.....maybe needle and seat need cleaning???

Cleaning the carb isnt a bad idea in any situation. The main cause for your problem is not having the bowl installed correctly. On these carbs there is a step in the bowl that allows the float to dip down into it. You have to have this mounted correctly or the float will not suck enough fuel over bumps and at full throttle .

Put the shallow end of the bowl nearest the needle/seat hinge. You can also make a slight float level adjustment by bending the tang on the float to allow more fuel in the bowl so it doesnt starve for fuel.

i actually got a chance to spin the bowl around this afternoon before i left and no change-its still starting and immediatly cutting off. If im quick enough w/the throttle i can keep it runnin for about 10-15 seconds but then it will cut off. Also if i crank it wide open it stalls and trys to cut off.....any suggestions
