I got the condo for $58k. Maybe another $10k for a new window, sliding glass door, carpet, vinyl plank flooring, backsplash, some paint, fridge stove, outlets, light fixtures… Probably in for about $70k after the fixes. If I listed it today, I’d have to replace the carpet my dog pisses on, then list it for 100

I’m just not sure I want a Crook County Condo long term. I don’t think my housing expenses are very much, but property taxes just rub me wrong; especially in Crook County. They’re just going to keep going up.

I pay about $150 / Mo in property tax. After 2 years my home owners exemption reduced my taxes by 0% because the assessment that happens every three years increased my taxes by the same amount. Like a 40% increase in assessed value.

$50 / Mo for condo insurance.
$280 / Mo for association fees
Fees include water, heat, cooking gas, lawn, snow, garbage…

So basically the annual cost of owning this place is about 6% of the “value.” Granted some utilities are included in that. But I’m not allowed to rent it out unless it is to a family member. Rental units are capped at 5% of the 144 units. So like what? 7 units are being rented? I’m sure more than that are rented.

Anything in Crook County or just Illinois is just asking to be robbed. That’s why my sisters moved out of that hole. Their finding out Oklahoma and Texas are just as bad though.

If going to get deep dish pizza, get it from Lou Malnatis. Butter crust, full layer of sausage, sliced tomatoes, and garlic.

My favorite Hot Dogs and beefs come from Portillos. It’s good but expensive for the type of food. But all food is expensive now. Fast food sandwiches are like $12. Portillos has branched out a bit. I know they are in Florida. I can’t even get Vienna Beef natural casing beef franks unless I buy a case of like 30 of them. I get Nathan’s All beef Jumbo Restaurant style Dogs from the grocery.IMG_7742.pngIMG_7743.jpeg

I’m pretty sure I was told the part time position was supposed to be around 16-24 hours per week. Now I’m getting scheduled for 37 hours. I’m not complaining about the hours. I applied cause I need money. I see people on Reddit getting hours reduced. I just wasn’t expecting to be spending that many hours at THD. I blame myself for telling them I had open availability and desired 40+ hours.

I Loved Giaoppos deep dish pizza on the East Side. For Mexican food it was Mexican Inn also on the East Side. Both of those places closed up in 06. I have been lost ever since. I would drive 80 miles back home once a week for them. For hot dogs, polish, or chilli my go to is still Arnie’s in Whiting Indiana (where I’m from). It’s Where Man Bites Dog!

So my Department Supervisor informed me that she put in a request to HR to bump my pay. I’m not sure I ever got a raise after 3 weeks at a part time job. She wasn’t sure if it was possible, but notified me she requested it. The job is easy but I’m still not familiar with all the apps and pos programs. Seems odd to increase the pay of someone who is still training. I really only want to work as much as I have to; to be able to pay the bills so I can stay home and play with my dog. This job stuff is cutting into the quality time my dog requires of me. But it’s better than being homeless. lol.
