Yeah tell me about it! wish i still had my mates golf diesel!

Shipping isnt too bad, probabley around 50-100 bucks with the mower, or just the motor you may be able to post with nz post, which is cheap - about $25 dollars if its under 25 kg.

yeh but still makes it not so cheap. Will find one in auckland. Missed out on a couple complete mowers that've sold for less than $50 this year. Always miss the end of auctions haha. But its easy to get reel mowers. Gota brigs lawnmaster for $16 and a tecumseh morrison for $28.

will keep checking at the dump. They have maybe 100 mowers all lined up. Theres a guy that works there who trys to fix em to sell on trademe. Got a victa 550 off them for 40 bucks last week:D

Thats a good price, there was guy in auckland who was selling a victa opposed twin cylinder, i thought it was cool but i have too much crap!

Have a look for some of those old ironhorse engines, they can be modded for large power outputs

The bike in the photo has really nice flowing lines. Can you tell anything else about it? What engine is that? I see that cool bikes are being built all over the world. Thanks,
SB

Oh man that is really nice! the lines on that thing!, thats a small mk2/3? villiers, same crankcase as mk1 but different head/piston those came on reel mowers and other small stuff such as chainsaws,

Thanks guys - you have rekindled my motivation for this project!

Im also using sturmey archer front and rear wheels, the back wheel has the 3 speed gear select

**** right your putting a lot of time in to this, you couldn't do a better job on it!

Nope you didn't! 2 engines is gone be pretty **** awesome. Alternatively you could build 2 bikes! :D

The kick starter doesn't look hard to make at all, just a bit of work with a grinder and a file. Is there a freewheel built into that little gear?

Kinda painfully, I found what I'm pretty sure is the remains of an Atco mower on the farm! It's just a frame and the cutting cylinder though, no engine or anything exciting like that. :( I'm gonna ask Granddad what happened to the engine, might still be on the farm. In the mean time, I'm making a Victa 125 look vintage for a wood framed cycle car project. ;)

Thanks

Hayden

Hay cam, if you wana PM me your email address I've got a book (in PDF form) that's how to build a motorbike, written in 1908 I think. It shows you how to make everything, like even the carby and ignition system, as well as the whole engine. basically you start off with some molten metal and make the whole bike! It's pretty cool. PM me if you want me to email it to you.

Thankyou for that picture!! the first picture with a detailed kickstarter arrangement!

Pitch looks similar to a #428 motorcross chain, which if it is, would just be awesome because i have a lot of bike sprockets in that pitch.

- Pm'd you.

I have a rudge bicycle, picked it up from my old mans work and im looking at this auction on trademe - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=380725739

The first in a long time that is in whangarei, so i might be after it for the kickstarter assy, and the motor for the rudge, not much dosh in the pocket however and i have to get a new dash cluster for my corolla, so yeah wish this auction was on here 2 weeks ago >:|

Hope you get that motor dude.
