At least your middle school has classes like that. My high school doesnt even have that . Mabe it because it full of rich kids(mabe i shouldnt be typing this while im at school

& as far as taking pics of welds, it helps to have a light source at an angle. That way it casts shadows & defines edges.
i wish my middle school had welding classes, they had an ok wood-shop like 15 years ago(before i was even born), but decided it would be better to have an art-room

, i learned how to weld by looking through weldingtipsandtricks.com, then after getting the basic idea, headed into my garage and practiced for several months, then visited my uncle, who revised my welding and got things up to par, sooooo i guess you could say I'm self taught, i don't think my welds are really nearly as good as other peoples on this site, but I'm happy to say they won't break any time soon!
EDIT: devino, did you get hit by hurricane earl yesterday? its coming up the cost for me.
