Before I chop it up

I have tried to figure out what this kart is. I figure it is a Manco. I have seen those wheels, scrub brakes, pedals, and the seat support on other Mancos. I have never seen one with all of them together or one with that funky bowtie steering wheel. I am planning on lengthening it, move steering to the middle, and put on a drum brake for now. Later I might go to a live axle but I am cheap and will wait for a good deal. I got this for next to nothing so I don't care about cutting it up. If it was a prototype built by Gordon Kartonio, the inventor of the go kart (where do you think the name Go Kart came from?) and worth a fortune then I might just leave it alone. It would be nice to at least know what model it is instead of refering to it as "that stupid kart laying in the way". So before I chop it up, can you help me figure out what it is?

I beg to differ on the inventor of the go kart.
I say it was Art Ingles. BUT, let's not get off topic.
It has an outline resemblance to a Streaker, but the one wheel peel throws me.
That is one funky steerin' wheel.

No streakers came in all sorts of configurations. You could get them as a one wheel peel.

Yes it's one of those order catalogue models made specifically for .. "sears" in this case

I called a few people and put some feelers out for a flathead briggs to put on this kart. I have a feeling that by the end of the week I will be up to my eyeballs in free motors.

Yeah Briggs seem to be all over the place here in Texas.
Less than 1/2 mi. from me is a house. In the driveway there is a pressure washer.
On it is a Briggs Industrial Plus 5 HP flathead.
How do I know this, you ask?
I walk the dogs by it every day.

Two years ago, I distinctly remember it only snowed ONCE.
And even then, it wasn't snowball fight stuff, more like a sugardusting.
And it happened on New Year's Eve...

Lots of snow up in Ohio, my father usually buys a snowblower or two in the summer fixxes it and sells it in the winter, keep the engines sometimes. Have a 10hp tecumseh sitting around. Threw a 6hp one on the tiller, tiller had bad rings

I stripped it down and flipped it over and found some repairs and some needed repairs. I really have no problem chopping it up now.

And I thought my kart was rusty!
Now I consider my go kart a Shed Special! Mine only had minor surface rust, but that is DISGUSTING!
It's always ugly when it's crusty and eaten through.
