It shouldn't be hard. Remove the rear wheel after taking pictures or make drawings of how things go. Then open the hub, should lift out. Spray with brake cleaner or replace your pads. Take kots of pics. Put it back the way you found it. Did ya youtube search on brake repair or replacement. Specifically drum brakes?

i bit the bullet, took out all the small bolts and everything, got this thing taken apart, brake pads look fine, but theyre extremley dirty, and so is the place they sit, also theres a small spring type thing that goes around the arm it pulls to expand the brakes, i just pushed it over the side, is it the right place for it?

Cool. You clean everything good? Lightly sand the drum if rusted? Then cleaned again?

everything seemed fine, i got the brake shoes off, they seemed to have alot of pad there, but they were smooth, cleaned everything up best i could, had a hell of a time putting the springs for the brake pads back on,but i got it there, everything was ready to be installed, i have everything seeming to be going fine, just couldnt get the tire on, didnt have that extra person to hold up the rear of the bike, and i wasnt going to drop it trying myself, can you tell me which spacer is on what side? i totally forgot, theres two spaces, ones long, and ones short, can you tell me which side the short one is on and also the long one? i forgot, but everything should be fine, but there was two things i noticed while i had the drum of, A) after you pull for the brakes to expand and let go, even tho it closes theres still a slight turn to it which made me think probably just need to get the cable on and such, B) whenever you pull on the brake lever, the brake lever and spring it self make a small squeak nice, but really shouldnt be noticable over engine noise

I believe the short one goes on the sprocket side, long on the brake side.

This is whats to become of my other Heat frame...

:D

okay guys, tires on, thought everything was good, and then everything failed, theres a small black bar that holds the drum still so when you pull the lever the cable gets pulled and opens the brakes, the only way i can get the bar to even fit is with the mounting hole point straight down, and then it seems really bad on the cable, what do i do? the bar is just not right

cant get pictures for a little, busy all week, anyway, on the drum, theres where the brake lever connects, and a mounting hole, that mounting hole holds a black peice of steel that bolts to the frame, and holds the drum still , i cant get it to go on correctly
