These cheap knock offs suck.

I had a very similar problem with mine.
look closer at the damage pointed out in the pic.
the two halves are slipping causing the two pieces to get misaligned then the weight jumps the ramp and jam up. The symptoms you describe fit exactly.
its either a design problem, or the nut is not tightened enough, or as in my case it is operating beyond its maximum power rating.
l’m sending almost twice the rated power through it. After screwing with itseveral times l just gave up and welded it. Its been that way for many hours of thrashing and still works perfectly. I drilled a few holes so l could spray dry lube in it
