I've had this frame for years, but it just sat. I turned my old street Dingo back into an off-road kart and swapped the slicks over to the Amex. My nephew came into town and we put it all together for him to ride. He calls it the "drift kart." I used a gc160 I had from an Azusa kart project. I had to build a custom header due to the exhaust coming out towards the seat. I put a new brake drum and band along with a new sprocket hub with 68 tooth sprocket and a stinger clutch with a 12 tooth driver. Not real fast due to having a governor, but it scoots pretty good around our property with my nephew on it. I like this little engine although I know many people don't use them in karts.

Cool!
Yeah, GC160s aren't very common on karts because of the exhaust direction, but the concept is cool of a cammer kart, and they're not as expensive as Subaru Robin OHCs.
What kind of tires are you using to get your stuff to stick to the walls?!?! ;) :roflol:

Not sure why the pics came out that way because they don't come out that way on my phone. Here's a few more of the header, still have to weld on the tip. Has a nice sound to it.

Pretty cool how you got the motor to work out on that kart. I finished an Am Ex project this summer. It’s a little kart but a cool one. Make sure your seat supports are solid. The flimsy metal and welds seem to break on those. You don’t want to grind you rear end off on the pavement.

Been messing with these frames for years. The orange one in the background has broken the frame many times before near the engine mount bars and the seat supports. Weld her up and keep going. Most of that all happened when it was like the Amex. Taking hard turns really flexes the frame and it cracks. I pretty much ride it in the yard instead of on the road now. Super fun karts!
