American Sportworks Black widow T/C problems

i just replaced the belt and the brass bushing and i can roll the kart backwards about 3 feet before the belt/tc tightens up to where i cant budge it unless it is rolled forward

Is your chain alignment off?

Are your axle/wheel bearings good?
My go kart, before I replaced the bearings, the chain would go tight, loose, tight, loose.
So that could be a problem.

Is there a washer between the jack shaft sprocket and driven pulley? If not the chain will bind on the pulley rivets

what about belt alignment?

Bet alignment shouldn’t matter, it’s a circle so if it flexes at one point in the circle it will continue to flex and bend, belt alignment shouldn’t matter. It would have to be super dry rotted and hard to cause that problem if it wasn’t aligned the proper way

Has this problem started only since the belt an bushing were replaced? Have you got the correct size belt for your TC? Post some pics of the TC and belt
