Unbelievable! Well, that's one way to do it. I made a kart that has 2 steering positions for a bench seat (with racing harnesses), but only 1 steering wheel. It does have dual gas/brake pedals though. Harnesses work normal for 2-seat, and flip the inside straps of both for center-drive.
My kart pictured above? My harnesses actually came as 4-points, but for build reasons I put the shoulder straps under a single bolt instead of under 2 bolts. so yeah, 3-point harnesses now. The long reach over the top of the "roll bar" now will keep you in the straps that way. Meanwhile, it helps facilitate flipping the inside half of both to make a single centered harness. "Roll bar" isn't one, just part of the structure. A full rollcage not pictured will be bolt-on-removable for transport purposes (see stubs sticking up from dashboard). Fenders not built yet.
That kart and so many others has the one thing I wish I'd incorporated into my (almost) everything build, that FNR tranny.
