Almost removed governor need advice.

Removed the arm, and the plastic gear except this much. Think it's okay or should I continue to fight that **** snap ring.

If it were me....
I'd take the flywheel off and punch out the whole shaft from that side.
Plug up the hole with a bolt.

I had a similar result and ended up doing ^

The YouTube video don't show it that way. I wasted so much time I would of took the other side off if I had known about it. I took the bolt and nut from the gas tank to plug the governor shift hole and some high tack.

I fought with that wire clip, Hammer and Screw driver.
But it is all gone now.

I thought those rod cap bolts had 12 point bolt heads(on the typical stock clone and such)..... all the new aftermarket ones do?

IMO, it should be fine as it is, nothing is in contact with the engine internals so, nothing should be damaged; in most cases, it's the pieces of the exploded governor gear which causes the damage...

I put the edge of a flathead screwdriver against the clip and hit the screwdriver with a hammer to deform the clip. They pretty much fall off once you get the clip screwed up enough.
X2 on it being fine as is.
