ok I have a tecushem h70 engine that came off of a snowblower engine. It runns pretty well when it idels (idels a little fast but all i have to do for that is turn the idle screw a bit and that should be fine) and it runs good when I press the gas, the only problem is when I put the air filter on and then the engine wants to die or dosent start at all and when i press the gas with the air fillter on the engine starts to run godd and then dies completly. I did a search on here for this problem and dint get to far so if any of you could tell me what to do and I tried to turn the screw at the bottom of the carb and that didnt help much (but i think it has to do with one of the set screws in the carb)

ill add pics if i can later

Thanks Ricky

I am goign to go take the carb aprat and see if that help but i still think it might be one of the screws so if anyone could help me thad be great.

Air filter clogged.
Putting one on and then have it stall engine is the same as applying choke. Obviously it cannot breathe.
Carburetor should never be adjusted with a clogged/dirty air filter.
Air filter will have to be changed and carb readjusted.

Could it be that you have the wrong filter? Previous owner (if there is one) might have had to replace the whole filter unit and put a smaller one on it.

P.S don't run it without air filter
