air compressor

we wanted an air compressor for farm use around £100, to produce about 6-7cfm air. it is mainly for blowing dust from dusty air filters, and will pay this back quickly.
i also was planning to use a few simple tools like impact wrench. i was thinking this

no thats not true, we bought a cheap compressor and we have to replace the seals on the nozzle constantly. the nozzle was left with a big dirty bur because they didnt put enough thought into making the compressor. Also most cheap ones lose air like a sun of a gun, which is annoying.

I suggest getting a good quality brand named compressor which has a large amount of spare parts available just in case something goes a miss.



Buy cheap, buy twice.

i bought a used one at a yard sale.. like 40 bux..
rebuilt whole compressor.. 65 bux piston, rod, rings, jug (sleeve) , reed valves..

9cfm compressor for 105 WORKS GREAT thats what I would do..

ok. we probably want new, as we will use it for a while. could buy used, but may not be as reliable, and i really cant be arsed with more things breaking. i think 7-8cfm is what we want, and not a cheapo like 4cfm.
also want it oil lubricated, as they last longer.
im thinking buying one that someone has hardly used.

hf's are not as good, and wolf is quite a good brand.

I might get the wolf one, as it looks quite reasonable considering it's new. Wat do you guys think? Also what are
some good accessories? We were going to get a wrench and possibly a sandblaster and paint tool. Will we need a hose and a gun?

you will need a hose, but check first if they give you one with the compressor. The guns are handy for blowing off dust and the like and also the attachments for pumping wheels are good

pump for the same price, so I might get

Yer i got a similar one. There pretty decent. The only thing i dont like with mine is the tanks to small. For what i use it for 24L is not enough and i hate it kicking in all the time in a tin shed. For cleaning its fine though but running air tools i would get something bigger. Maybe 50L.

We just bought it and it should be here soon. We didn't want 50l cos they weigh like 40kgs and the 24 weighs 30 and is kinda portable if needed. Could you get a bigger tank?
