Actually he's right lol. Height will increase pressure. Read how water towers work perhaps. Having lived in a house at one point with gravity feed water pressure, I know how it works. More height equals more pressure which equals having a shower with some pressure.

And not having a wife equals having a shower with NO pressure.

In my experience (especially with outboard engines) when the fuel supply cannot keep up with the demand is that the engine will "bog" and start loosing rpm under WOT. If jetting is to lean it will pick up a little as you close the throttle. If it were me.. Go gravity feed and remove the drain plug from the float bowl and time how long it takes to fill a 1qt cup (16 oz will be fine also). With that you can calculate how much power your fuel system can support. For gravity feed systems I try to get 30% more fuel flow then estimated power.
So lets use 15hp.. and .45 BSFC (little on the rich side)
GPH = .45x15hp/5.92
GPH for 15hp is 1.14
Take 1.14 x 8 = 9.12 pints per hour or 6.58 minutes per 16oz flow.
add bout 30% and look for 20oz flow in that same 6min 35sec time.


Just to be safe, I'll assume 20 HP.

20 * 0.45 / 5.92 =

1.52 gallons per hour

1.52 gal/hr * 128 oz/gal = 194.6 oz/hr

194.6 oz/ hr / 60 = 3.24 oz per min
Add 30%...
3.24 * 1.30 =

4.212 oz per min.

According the that formula...
A 20 HP engine needs 4.212 oz per minute.

My fuel delivery was about 21 oz in 5 minutes.
21 / 5 = 4.2 oz per minute.

This gravity feed should be able to make 20 HP consistently (if jetting is correct).

Well its a gripping tale about a young man from Chicago and his struggle to find his place in the world and go-kart community.

Searching for answers and horsepower, our protagonist takes you on a wild ride loaded with sex, rock n roll, and 9th grade algebra.

It is an emotional roller-coaster that will bring you to tears, then to 50mph, then have you flying across the street at a height of 1.5 meters.

A piece that will leave you in deep thought, wondering if HorsePower really exists?

The kaleidoscopic rotation of the flywheel, the rhythmic pumping of the piston, and the inebriating fumes from the gasoline will leave you unsure if it is the crankshaft that is turning or if your whole world has just been flipped upside down.

Note to self.

Stop using the impact wrench on the crankshaft bolt.

Chain is cleaned (at least better than it was). I used Water Displacement 40th formula and a brush to clean it.

I'll use some spray on chain lube.


I'm pretty sure a few threads are jacked from the impact wrench?
I can't hand turn a lubed bolt more than one rotation.

Hopefully This bolt holds. I got a longer one cause of the spacer I added. The driver is close on the edge of the crank.

Chain is clean and lubed.

TC is cleaned and lubed.

TC pulleys, sprockets, and chain all mocked up to make sure it will be aligned.

Now I can start putting everything back together.


Lets see if I can keep the flywheel still while I torque that bolt?
