Hi, DIYGK Members.
I am currently working on this project, an idea slightly different in wooden diy go-kart frame builds. I've attached pictures of my prototype to share, your comments will be greatly appreciated, if not useful. So please feel free to express your thoughts. For now I will be posting photos, so you can say! what you see in the pictures and join in the thrill, helping making a little surprise this Christmas for my two, four year old grandson's.
I will also be posting again with the following, sizes and materials etc

Many thanks and looking forward to hearing from your end.

Hey Talisman,

Looks pretty kool...so far

What ya using for wheels?
...what are ya using for spindles & an axle??
...& how are ya mounting them???
Hi Functional Artist, I'm working on the parts I'm going to need and using AI to get the information to my prototype design. So will be greatly grateful to any help Members could give. I will put a list together soon and also the specific size of the build. Putting a sketch together at this moment. 👍

Right. Add that sketch and the way you intend it to look and the forum can provide some parts sources. What kind of landscape do you intend for the kart? Pavement/sidewalk roads, grass, dirt, rough stuff?

You’re in good hands with Functional Artist though.

At the front I will be sandwiching Douglas fir cross beams and layer two steel plates, flitch plates over both timber faces. The back one timber cross beam under the bottom and a steel plate. The timber will be the exact width and the metal plates a 100mm longer each ends. To mount the axle brackets onto.

As long as you keep this thread going, we can follow along.
Just start typing in the box.
No real need to hit the reply button.
But you can "multi quote"by stacking the reply button and replying in-between.
