In the process of building a go kart, and it's kinda my first time ever working on one, thank god for youtube haha..
anyway I'm trying to make my kart at it's max HP and I kinda need help. the title is the exact engine im using. I changed the air box to a intake, and I added a straight pipe on. I'm not sure what else to do. Nor do i know much about the engine it self. do i change the spark plugs? or anything at all.
Hope someone can help meeee :surrender:

REmember there is such a thing as too big of a pipe, if you go too big on your pipe, you'll lose what is known as the scavanging effect and that will actually have a negative effect on performance.

alright you can just increase the size of the holes by making them into slots

if it came with only a 2.5hp motor you may want to make sure that the mounting plate isnt a cheap little 1/16 in. plate. thats what one of my karts had and it just bent and broke under all the extra power when i upgraded motors. i just welded up a 1/4 in. plate only took about an hour and worth it. if you dont upgrade plates your chain will start loosening due to a bending mounting plate and it may fall off at a bad time:thumbsup:

I could be wrong but, I'm pretty sure the footprint is both longer & wider...
