what size is your crankshaft on the diesel? if its 1 inch you can use that torque converter just add an intake and exhaust on it.

I still do not agree with sellers claiming that the Tav 30 is good up to 13hp. The original Comet (yeah, the actual GOOD one) was only rated to something like 8hp.

Do yourself a favour. Spend the extra money, and get a Comet 40. Then you KNOW it will work well, and work reliably.

a diesel may tear up the little belts, but 7hp is what i beleave the sweet spot for the tav2, great power, but does not tear belts up, a comet belt should last one season, , id say the 1 inch bore tav2 will work great

Sure the 40 series are great but they cost almost twice as much after the jack shaft etc. A genuine tav2 should be plenty sufficient and is easier to mount providing you have room ad the correct mounting pattern on the engine.

I just re-read the original post. While I stand by my statement regarding false power specifications, the TAV2-30 should work out okay for you, especially with the (generally) lower weight of a bike. Just watch your gearing.

there is some type of tork converter for people who make these diesel motorcycles and it goes from the motor to a gear box and on the gear box yo have a kick start so you anit got to worry about pull starting it cause i know they have huge amounts of compression

ive had no issues with the clone, i took a real comet up to a comet knock off, there the same, weights weigh about the same, you can get the knock offs cheaper, they work just as well, before hooking it up let us know what your gearing will be, someone will tell you if it is a good setup

Thanks for your comments.I want to buy Chinese tav 30 because it is cheaper than Comet.Gearing of my bike 10t shaft sprocket and 32t wheel sprocket and 18" rim .32t sprocket is orginal motorcycle sprocket.

IMO a 3.2:1 ratio is going to be way to high for your TC. I would gear lower. I would go for maybe 5:1 if you have a large rear wheel. Maybe even 6:1

As far as I know you can use a Comet 40 on a 7HP, but it would be a bit of overkill.

I had one on my 6.5, because that's what I could buy used at the time (£70)
Glad I did now though- Never replaced the belt, and run the clutch hard. It does get warm, and has jammed the odd time, but I doubt a 30 would take the abuse I give my stuff- especially as the clone is making a few more horses now.
