ok thanks for the help guys...i am removing the carb to clean it today hopefully that solves my problem but the engine sounds like it needs a spark but spark plug seems to me intact and fine still...i will post pics of the engine for further assistance

To check if you have spark, remove the plug, put it in the plug boot, hold the plug against the engine block (or something metal) and pull the starter cord. If there is spark, you should see th spark at the end of the plug when you pull the cord. You could also just hold the end of the plug between your fingers and pull. This will shock you a bit though

Yes, it certainly would but, it's not the only thing that would prevent it from starting.

Once you've established that you have spark, put a teaspoon of fuel in through the sparkplug hole, refit the sparkplug & try starting it.

Now- The specific question...

If you turn your fuel valve on and walk away 5-10 minutes, does it start drooling gas out of the carb? Or does gas only come out when trying to start?

If it does it all the time, I bet your fuel inlet valve or float (inside carb) are the problem. If it ONLY does it when trying to start, I think you've got a valvetrain problem. See comments regarding inspecting the rockers...

How long has it been doing this? Did something happen when it started doing this? Have you tried to adjust, alter, or modify anything on the engine?

ok i just cleaned and installed the carb after i cleaned it and now it still drools out gas so it can be the float inside the carb??....should i just buy a new carb or can i get this fixed??

The needle, seat & float are all connected to stop the flow of fuel entering the carby. As the bowl fills with fuel, the float rises, pushing the needle into the seat until it seals off, preventing more fuel from entering the bowl. As the engine uses the fuel in the bowl, the float drops to let more fuel in.

First thing to do is check why it's leaking;
it could be that the needle or seat is worn
there may be a bit of crud stuck in there
the float may not be floating properly
there's a chance it wasn't put back together correctly (not necessarily by you)...

Remove the bowl from the bottom of the carb. The float should drop & allow fuel to run through. Now lift the float (gently, it doesn't need a lot of pressure to seal). Once the float is fully raised, does the fuel still run through? If so, remove the float but leave the needle in place. Push the needle into the seat; does it stop now?

There are rebuild kits available, some of the local guys can help you with that or just google it

ok so that can be the problem?...so if the float is not floating correctly the gas would be leaking out correct?

It can be the problem, it's the most obvious one but there are others.

It should stop. If not, it's something else but, one step at a time.

Have a read of this & see if it helps

Pointed side up. Also, when you remove the float, shake it to check it. If it is empty, it's good. It should be empty so it can float. If it has a swishy sound, or is leaking gas, it's bad.

The needle & seat are #30 in the picture.
