We are in the process of modifing a Champion 6.5 hp engine. 390 GX carb, manifold, Uni filter, filter adapter, stronger valve springs and fuel pump. We also removed the governor and pluged the hole. Looking for a GX 160 head if anyone has one laying around.

Statement was made "dont put a gx160 head on there
thats what i'v heard".
This means nothing unless it can be backed up with known empirical facts.
It's easy to say that flying saucers exist. Proving it is a different story because of a serious lack of evidence.

GX160 head is fine. Same sized valves, increases compression ratios, ect.

Porting would make it all the better. You can find GX160 heads on eBay all the time. Kidney shaped, no doubt?

$39.99 on eBay, shipped. I was told they were 18cc, but they seem to look like 14cc's when compared to a genuine GX160's head.

Something it should look like when put together:

Original head vs (14 or 18cc head?) <19cc head.

Thanks for the pics - just going to use what we have now as far as mods. Should have it back together tomorrow - need to pickup a gasket and a couple bolts.

Speaking of "billet" does anyone make valve covers from "billet" aluminum for the Honda.

No one I know makes billet aluminum valve covers. You could call your local machine shop or ARC... but it won't be cheap.
