Update! Got a lot done over the summer, I started off with installing tie rods for steering, got wheel hubs for the front with front brake hubs on the way, made a very squeaky hand clutch lever and got a steering wheel hub, mocked the engine back up, extended the seat mounts, welded some mounting tabs for the harness and rear wing, and finally I welded the front bumper mounts and installed a front bumper that is currently separated by a block of wood until I can get the actual spacer.

Where do you sit?
The seat will be in that section in front of the engine and behind the steering shaft mounts where there is bunch of rectangular steel with holes drilled. I haven’t got the seat mounted up yet because I ran into an issue with the seat touching the engine (ouch!) so I had to move the mounting holes forward and have yet to re-drill the back-most mounting holes. Plus I’m thinking on painting the frame soon before it gets chilly so I’ll need to take everything off the kart anyways.

Yeah maybe, I designed the front end to replicate a Tony Kart/shifter kart front end but I didn’t have access to one of those frames to see exactly how far back the seat was so I placed the seat based off my height and leg length, and since I’m a younger dude who’s 5’10 things are probably a little cramped for someone a little older or taller than me, it’s a bit of a stretch for me though so I feel like someone 6’0 or 6’1 may still be comfortable in it.

Update: Got some proper wheels, I realized that there was no way the setup I had before was gonna work (frame basically touched the ground lol). I welded in some braces going from the engine mounts to around where the front of the seat is, just to reinforce the frame and engine mounts a little bit and to reduce bending. I Connected the shifter to the engine and bought a clutch cable (however it was thicker than I thought it would be so I’ll need to redo the way it mounts on to the clutch lever.) I also bought and rebuilt a set of carburetors, bought all the ignition components needed to run the engine, bought the exhaust, bought rear calipers and master cylinders, bought rear brake disc hubs, and bought front brake disc hubs. I’m planning on trying to start the engine when spring rolls around, just so it will be easier to start. (I may even have a chain and sprocket and working brakes by then so I can take it around the block.)
