Lol.

Anywho, I've heard of people boring out the block and placing a .590" Wiseco piston in, then modifying a billet rod and placing that in. Instructions by Mike Clements of Clements Racing...

Did that, got 1/4" popup. Waste of money.

On the other hand, if you could somehow get someone to CNC a 3.5HP connecting rod, all will be well. Mill the head, send the cam to Dyno cams and get it 94SS profiled, then install a Tillotson and loop pipe. Then go to Turk Bros and buy their 3HP Billet flywheel.

so theres really not much i can do?

Yup, sadly. Start with a $15 block like I did. I somehow worked it up to billet flywheels, billet rods, cams...

how do i go about removing the governer?

Should be under the recoil, be warned about flywheel explosions and rod breakages.

o and what about 5hp cams? will those fit?' or not so much.

Nope. 2/3/3.5 are interchangeable (I've put a 3.5 in a 2), but 5HP will NOT fit. Larger gear.

Depends on the engine, your clinton will but IT WILL BE DESTROYING HISTORY. Any engine ran past its specs wont last as long.

Hehe, muh 1959 Briggs 2HP, govenor removed, straight pipe, 3HP carburetor.... :D

Its a briggs millions everywhere I have never even SEEN a Clinton(engine or the politician) in person. Coolest flatty I have ever seen is a Wisconsin twin on a BIG generator.

My favorite Flatty was a 5hp Kawasaki that some neighbors sold us. AMAZINGLY BETTER than any B/S I've ever messed with, (probably due to its float-type carb) and if I ever see another pop up- I'm all over it.

I think the 3.5hp motors are pretty cool- I used to be a bit miffed as a teenager, because B/S didn't make the 90000 series engine as a horizontal right off the bat- only as a worm-burner (vertical).
But recently, a friend put one on kart, and it does quite well with us Fat-_sses driving it. (11" wheels/ 5:1 ratio). The best part is- it fits where the 2- 3hp motors do.
