Well,
I guess I'll throw my pile of parts and metal on the site and see what you guys think. It's being built for my clones for Christmas so it WILL be done in time.
The starter is a kart I got from a friend and will be using the motors, brakes and maybe a piece or two but that's it. The rest will be built by me.

My first day with any kind of progress, cutting up some stock for the new front end and frame.

Can't wait to see it!
Time to go buy a crate of Dr Pepper, because you're gonna have some late nights finishing it before Christmas! :ack2:

Yea, I agree. It will be nuts with the amount of free time I have working and going to school full time and working 30+ hours a week slinging parts <>

Subscribed! Will definitely be interested to see your dual motor drive setup. I know bikes have always struggled to keep multiple motors in sync, but perhaps there is more leeway on a cart. Good luck.

School, work and a tornado

Well I have a pile of parts and the metal melting has finally started. Still a lot to go but Im knocking it down. Keep in mind I'm going to school full time, work full time and last weekend we had a tornado knocking out power for the only freeish time I had. Sleep is overrated

Thanks,
I stretched the frame 6" to allow taller drivers. There is a reason I'm running 2 engines, lol. <>

Good lookin' progress so far--sad to say I missed this build thread the first time around.

The frame that donated the motors in post #1 looks like a promising project in its own right.
A simpler beast compared to the monstrosity you're doing now...

A lot of the fab is done. I have to make a new rear shock tower to adjust for the dual motor and brake caliper mount. So kinda happy, might just get this beast done on time. Might even get it powder coated if I have it dialed in earlier enough.

Looking sweet!

Just one question though....I see you have the pull starts facing forward. When your seat is installed, that is going to make it difficult to pull them. Are you turning them around?

The picture is a little deceiving, there is room for adjustments on the mount. I have to still build the rear shock towers to account for the dual set up and adjust the brake caliper with the rotation for the original set up. Getting some hardware on my way to work tonight and getting the motors cleaned up.
