Mock up muffler ideas are underway. The diy header kit with 90 degree bends should arrive later today. Here is the el cheapo muffler we bought, which I am considering using in a modified form.

Did I mention he now wants his dual exhaust to have four tips? *

In spite of the neighbor and potential e-conversion research I am proceeding with a custom exhaust. I chose to go up to 1-1/4 tubing due to the exhaust port size and then use the two perforated tubes from the muffler to build a custom silencer that sits in front of the engine. I then anticipate 2-4 1” tubes exiting the silencer and bending up at the back.

Well that may just be a wrap for the 2019 build off. We took the kart to the Grandparents yesterday in the hopes he will get to ride it more often in their neighborhood. Custom exhaust, bomber seat and eConversion are shelved likely for winter at the minimum. He did have a blast tearing around the two cal de sacs until he ran out of daylight.

Quick test with stage 3 Predator yielded 39mph with a limited running distance. I also rode it myself and the mechanical brakes are good enough to lock up from high speed and the light front end with sensitive steering gets really sketchy. You can see in the video how easily it bounces around when going over breaks in the pavement (no suspension).

Yes, I am calling it finished for the build-off. We will continue to tweak it into the future, but have not made any significant changes for the last couple months. It is hella/scary fast!
