Here is how I am sealing the cable against dirt ingestion, I have many of these very small O-Rings and this is the perfect size to seal this cable and housing, I will stack a few inside the housing as a safety measure, when the O-Ring is installed in the cable housing it fits the cable snugly and seals it off completely.

Man your idea to use the seat as a fuel tank is a slick one but from my experience kind of flawed. I had a 75 SS454 ElCamino drag car I put the Jazz seats in when it went on a diet after the cage got put in. In my haste to get the car out on the streets I neglected to add a brace for the upper seat back to the cage. The first hard launch those little threaded dohickeys (they look like Heli-Coils) pulled out of the seat, the seat went sliding around and I'm hanging by the harness from the roll cage with one nut pinched between the belt and my thigh. I have no Idea where the other nut went for about a week but it finally did come back and I was happy about that. My friends got a good laugh, I didn't think it was that funny and thank God I kept control of the car while all of this was happening.

Just a little something to think about.

Good thing to know Denny and thanks for the info, my kart does not create the G force of the launch from a Big Block Chevy but with your experience with this type of seat I can see that indeed this idea would not be worth the risk and and danger,I know that you are a wise man and you have been around for awhile and I thank you for your insight! That is a funny story indeed and I can completely understand what you are talking about, there is nothing like the feeling of the power and the forces induced of a hard launch most certainly with slicks bolted on and a hard hook up to the ground and an engine with the power to make it all happen!

Here is how I made the pedal stops and the throttle control rod to throttle cable adapter. The black material is Delrin, it is really light and easy to machine and tough. On the pedal stops I have tacked a 1/4 x 20 steel lock nut to a 3/8 nut and then I welded it into position, I can turn the 1/4 inch bolt in or out in order to adjust the pedals at the beginning of their travel. And here are a couple of shots of the 30mm Mikuni and the throttle connector that I made at idle and wide open throttle, notice that I am not just using the throttle return spring that is in the carburetor as I have another compression spring in use on the throttle control rod.

Here is the 2 inch 304 stainless steel exhaust system that I am making, there is no other engine in the world that sounds like one of these Rotary Combustion Engines.

Here is the rear muffler mount pillars that I have made out of one inch .063 wall tubing,I had to trim the tops of them to the same angle of the muffler inclination, I made some threaded inserts and I have welded them inside the tops of the pillars so I could bolt the muffler clamp to the pillars. This is a real sturdy mount that I believe is not going anywhere, I need to get a two inch stainless steel band clamp to join the exhaust pipe and the muffler together and when I need to adjust the chain all I have to do is loosen the engine mounting bolts and the exhaust clamp and move the engine forward, the exhaust pipe will " Trombone" inside the muffler as the engine is moved forward and all I will have to do is tighten up the engine mount bolts and the exhaust clamp and the chain adjustment will be done.

Here is a shot of the exhaust pillars and a few shots of my progress so far, I still have to install the front skid pan, steering wheel, kill switch, cap the open ends of the frame, install fuel lines and fuel filter and put some rubber on the wheels and test run the kart and take it all back down and paint it.

It won't be long chancer that I hear it run, but you will all have to wait until she is done and painted,It is not even going to look the same by any means and I want the whole effect of this kart to be revealed at the time of completion, I will guarantee that this little rotary engine will sound like no other, I have been messing with these engines for awhile and most people that have never had any experience with one of these engines don't have a clue to how cool they really are, I have spanked a few karts that were lighter and had a little more low end grunt than this engine has but when this engine gets up on it's power band it pulls pretty good for a 1975 vintage engine, thank you always for your kind words.

So I have some paint ideas for this kart and some ideas for the wheels, the wheels are going to be blacked out in the centers and the rim edges polished, I have some bright colors pictured in my mind that may go along with the stainless steel and aluminium, any ideas from anyone following this build as far as a color for the frame? I want to see if anyone has the same idea that I might have as a frame color, and I have decided that I will post a startup video and test drive before I paint the kart because I am getting pretty excited to do so! :lolgoku:

Thanks for deciding to post that vid. And I would paint it Gold, I know that sounds ridiculous, and I thought so too. But my Boy wanted Gold and Mom's the painter so he got it. (spoiled) Anyway It turned out really cool Black and Gold. Besides it is your Wifes, Chicks dig jewelry:lolgoku:
No actually "Magenta" would look good with flat black and stainless.

Those are some interesting colors to think about gentlemen, that's funny chancer I was thinking about gold last night and trying to picture it in my mind, and slidewayz another good suggestion with the Caddy Dusty Rose color that is a good one too, maybe you have seen that color on a Hot Rod sometime? That would be a good one too! Magenta would be wild! these suggestions are great ones!

With Rods my favorite colors are Washington Blue, Black Cherry (Dark Burgundy), and Midnight Black. They look cool with red or blacked out rims and a little chrome/polish accents... Not sure if it's a good color scheme for karts though.

Wanting something a little flashier, then I like the candy colors...

Anything cool has been that color at some point...
Caddys, yes certainly numerous hot rods, it was a factory color for 50s Fender Stratocastors, he11 we had a special 200 lap race once to run and I repainted the bulk of my car that color to stand out....and it did:thumbsup:
