Hi, making this thread because i need to find parts.
Got a 1000CC two stroke engine with Electronic fuel injection and cvt.

I sat for a few days wondering what to do with it, then it hit me. Gokart would be fun. Maybe even an offroad kart.

Where can i find axles and wheels that can handle this engine without breaking.
Most likely have to build the rest myself.

That's almost not a kart!
I would suggest building something like Carsandcameras' Cross Kart(which utilized Mazda Miata rear suspension BTW).
At least, if you don't want to die. :devil2:
You're gonna be dumping a LOT of money into this project FYI.

Yea i know it might be a little overkill, but you only live once :auto:
Carsandcameras, is that a forum-user? Cant find him..

I was thinking about finding a crashed sidebyside, or maybe a wrecked small car to get the parts. But it might be to big to fit on a small kart without big modifications.

1l EFi two stoke??
sounds like someone tickled a military grade drone engine out of some service officer :D

Anywhoo.. awesome .. please show us the beast in question, so we get an idea of what
size we need to work with.

I think a road kart might be a better match since that's likely a revver not a torquer, right?

I like that thing alot.. I bet with a two stroke like yours...
*sigh*

Anyways, a 50mm kar axle should hold up well
and should be rather easy to find as well..
plus sprockethubs brake hubs and bearings are all covered of course.

My closest guess on what that engine is from is an Arctic Cat M1000, but that was only 162hp. Large 2 cylinder 1000cc 2 stroke efi. Haven't seen one in person, bu that thing will probably haul some major tail.

If that's what it is and its water cooled, get at least a radiator that's sized for a Honda Civic. Maybe look at a mini buggy like a Badlands ST2 NG.

Very close, it is a modded engine from an Arctic Cat F1000 2012. Got the same engine in my 09 Crossfire, but i cant seem to kill it, so i dont need a spare.
Got a radiator from a Cf Moto Zforce 1000, that should be big enaugh.

How about an old fwd car just swap that in there

Would be to heavy, the engine dont have much torque.

That looks like something the engine would fit in!
The rods to build suspension, What is it called in english, so i can search online? Looks way easier than fabricating myself.
Little torque, alot of Rpm.

I don't think that beast has any suspension.. it's more vibration dampening than anything else I guess.
the yellow pucks remind me of urethane motor mounts
the rest is likely just machined round stock

Sorry i dont meen suspension, but the rods holding everything together. Like A-arms on a quad.
The rods looks almost like those steeringrods, but im sure its something Else?
English is not my first language, so i dont know the words.

Dude, I don't believe you when you say it doesn't have torque. Sled engines half that size have plenty of torque. I think you should get parts from wrecked cars, you'll save money and time fabricating. I think you should make a Polaris Slingshot type thing. That would be cool.

That F1000 has around 120lb/ft of torque. Just gear what you are building to a minimum of 8:1. Sleds are around 3:1 gearing maybe a bit higher like 2:1, but they are using small drive wheels to move a continuous track. So as to not burn out the belt, the general consensus on gearing a snowmobile engine is a minimum of 8:1. That takes into account tall tires. If believe if you use taller than 26" you need deeper gearing. I dont know the exact numbers off hand, but I'll try to find them when I'm off from work in about 4 hours.

I meen low on torque compared to 4 stroke, you need 4000rpm just to engage the clutch.
Offcourse when i hit the powerband, it takes off with extreme power.

I have been thinking about the gearing, might have to build a chaincase.
The drive wheels is about 8inches, should be easy to find the right gearing when i deside what size the wheels Will be.

have you seen ghpc's triumph spitfire with a snow mobile engine? i think a stripped out light car chassis with a high revving engine would be sick

Had to look it up, thats awesome! But a little bit over Budget.

What i was thinking is find an old car of sorts rwd or fwd with a blown motor haul it home start swapping. Or get some suspension from a junk yard for a car that has a desired suspension type and subframes. Then use those suspension components for a buggy or just make a seems legit buggy ( search that on youtube) also as jt said cars and cameras used miata rear suspension

Does anyone know the name of the frame pictured above? Or is it just a one off custom build?

the one I posted?

IIRC it's custom made by a guy called Kyle Voss ("The Fab Forums" on youtube twitter and whatnot)
at least that's what I rememeber the images being labelled as when I pulled them out the google image search back then.
but yeah it likely is speced after Formula SAE cars maybe even to compete *shrugs*
a quick google couldn't provide me with a homepage back then
google just spammed me with unpinteresting stuff..

[EDIT]
Yeah above info is incorrect... thanks to pinterest mislabelings... ahhh well... Kyle is still a great fabricator and worth to be watched on youtube... but enough of that.

Anywhooo, since you asked I googled a bit around, and finally found the origins..
It's a NovaKar F6 prototype made from a Rakavon chassis
(that's what JNovak said)
https://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?80747-F600-build-for-college-project
real deal would be the F600 Blade I guess...

unfortunately the website ...uhm.. anyways contact details , right?
http://www.novaracecars.com
(Rakavon is the F500 on the website for comparision)

It's possible it could be a Formula SAE car, so pretty much a one off of many similar styles. Could be wrong.

I've seen a lot of formula SAE frames, and that looks very different to me. Still a brilliant chassis, and the urethane puck pushrod suspension is awesome.
