Back to summer 🥵 and excess engine heat. Did you know oil helps with cooling in an air cooled engine? It does, so make sure your oil is good and not 90% sludge and unable to flow well.

Oil is heated up at the top of the engine, then drops to the sump where it cools a bit and repeat. If you have sludge (old, thickened, dirty oil with tons of dirt suspended in it), it’s like stirring pudding when the dipper on the con-rod passes through it. You’ll likely spin the con-rod bearing not long after unless you can thin that oil from engine heat.
