    Clutch Identification

Has been identified as a four shoe vintage Max-Torque type "e" clutch for a racing two cycle engine (McCulloch or West Bend) from the early 60's to the 70's.

    Clutch Identification

Can anyone identify this clutch? I purchased this with another vintage clutch for a 2 cycle McCulloch kart engine. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Can anyone distinguish this Margay

I checked all the locations that Margay suggested on their site for stampings and none where present so it has to be before 1972 when they started stamping. Thanks for the info. I did send Margay an email so I'm looking forward to hearing back from them. It's going to be a father/son...

    Can anyone distinguish this Margay

I've told by a couple of guys it is probably a Margay New Breed. Thanks for everyone's help.

    Can anyone distinguish this Margay

Thanks guys! This just came out of a barn where it had been resting for the last twenty years. Even the old Airheart/Hurst brakes still work good. I still need to find an original gas tank and clutch for the MC91 and then I can start the restoration on the frame. I pretty excited to see how...

    Can anyone distinguish this Margay

I recently picked up this older Margay racer that I'm planning on restoring. I've been trying to identify the model and looks to be maybe a new breed or cheetah. The frame and engine mount looks like the new breed sprint but the front farring and gas tank placement on the back of the seat...

    Rain tires

I have been tossing around the ideal of adding rain tires to my kart once I get it finished. These would see a good mix of asphalt, concrete, gravel and grass. How would theses tires hold up as a general all purpose tire? I like the looks of slicks but considering the kart will be doing some...

    Frame identification?

Here is a few pictures of the kart after the paint removal efforts. What would be the purpose of the two tubes in between the two engine mounts? Also, the closest manufacturers to the frame I could find was the swoopster and the bear kart. But neither seemed to be an exact match.

    Frame identification?

Hey I'm open to ideas! I'm currently stripping the old paint off to get to bare metal. There must be about eight coats on this guy. The back axle is enclosed so I'm trying to figure out what is possible without having to remove and assemble a complete new rear setup.

    Frame identification?

I removed the homemade engine mount and found a stamping on the right side mounting plate. It reads (3112), but I still haven't found any type of manufacturers stamping. Ideally I would like to find out what an original looks like so I can return it to its former glory! :) Thanks for all...

    Frame identification?

I have added a few more pics from the underside. Concerning the welds, some do look to be homemade especially around the seat bottom. But the frame looks good, solid and straight. The motor mount plate was added later and can be removed. The axle is live and keyed driven off the drive...

    Frame identification?

Hi, this is my first post and first go kart build. I have been browsing through the site to learn but have a few questions. The kart is a barn find that I wanted to fix up for my son to ride but I am having a hard time finding any information about it. If anyone could let me know what type...
