yeah there is no caster, its dead vertical. i think another problem is that i have too much camber i it, which is causing the steering to roll, which is not alone dangerous, but adding to the problem as its impossible to control. i have checked the toe already and its dead straight!

well i took the front end off of a quad, and converted it for my kart. i "split" the joints that was holding the front together, you should see it in the pictures.

sorry, the clutch is a hilliard heavy duty thats rated to 10 hp i think? its brand new with less than an hours use. Well its running quad tires, so i'm wondering maybe is there too much contact patch on the road? thatnks!

i just finished my first full build of a manco kart/quad hybrid, and was all excited to take it for its first run. but, to my disappointment, the engine clutch combo was fit to drive it and the clutch was slipping terribly! thing is, this combo worked before with the same wheels and tire...

something worth considering, but may not work for you. if you check out my build (i'm a noob too) i bought a quad with a blown engine, originally for tires, but when i looked, i could use the full front axle including front suspension,hubs and brakes. all i had to do was split it and weld it on...

really:huh: that sounds like a ridiculous amount for simple mods but I'll take ye're word for it! only problem for me is while the jet is only $6 it costs around $80 for delivery to ireland :( also will i need to do any extra tuning after i put in the jet? or is it all plain sailing till one day...

well the intake is yet to be done, but it'll be 2 inch industrial pipe thats curved, with a cone filter up top. the exhaust i made out of a stainless steel quad exhaust, inch diameter, 2 foot long with a couple of curves (thats what she said :D ) i think i'll go with your idea toy story, sounds...

hey there! I'm just coming to the end of my build (seen here http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=13059) and I'm starting to look at the engine. I've just finished a custom throttle cable set-up, a custom stainless steel exhaust, and soon a ram air induction kit. i'm just wondering...

i would cut the fram just in front of the engine, and mount that whole lot to the back of your frame, just seriously beef it up. this way you can use the original back end, which solves some serious head aches with axle mounting etc.

you say cars dont make this popping, but i've a 1987 nissan sunny which begs to differ, with flames too...
