    Sprocket hole to small. HELP!!!

how small is too small? Do you have an old one? You could clamp the old one to the new one and use a die grinder to make the new hole bigger. Just an idea.

My uncle had 2 of those, we would terrorize the countryside with them things. They had plenty of power, I rolled em a few times. Thank god for the roll cage. Take a good look at the roll cage, make sure everything is solid.

    Frederic's Backbone Kart

Glad to hear you didn't give up on the project. I know how it is when you start something and time works against you. My problem isn't the time, but money, that's another story. I really enjoyed reading the build and cant wait for more updates.

Chain falls of on a turn?

Maybe the sprocket is worn. Can you take some pictures of the setup. Maybe somebody could give better ideas once they see it. As for the oil, I wouldn't suggest you use a synthetic, unless you have a lot of money, it would just be a waste, you want to change your oil regularly to get rid of...

Junk and scrap yards can be your best friend. Find one that allows people to walk around them and look. You would be surprised what you can find. You can get good gears from old rear engine lawn mowers, motorcycles, and stuff like that. Good luck with your build and welcome to the forum.

    non runner

Picked up an old welder - SIP Migmate 100 Amp - Need advice!

Even no name welders can produce decent welds. At the price you got it I would get some wire, gas and try to weld with it. You may have to replace the liner and tip, but as for it spazing out on ya, you shouldnt have a problem. You should trip a breaker or blow a fuse in your house...

    Welders

I have a Hobart Handler 120. I use shielding gas. You would be surprised how much you can weld with it. It is rated at 7 gauge but I can weld up to 3/8 with it, but I have been welding for over 15 years. A 120 welder would be good for almost everything you will need to do on a go kart...
