    Nope, it's brass, I did some grinding on the welds and it was brazed not MIG'd or TIG'd. Pretty crazy. These things take a beating so they made them this way in the beginning. Then I think it cost too much so they went back to MIG.

    Oil in the head. Cleaned...now it won't start

    Thanks Anderkart! I took the bowl off and it just poured out oil and gas. Cleaned everything with carb cleaner and put it back together and it fired right up! Thanks for being specific. It's been a while since I disassembled a gas engine.

    So I used some carb cleaner and sprayed it into the carb and was able to get it running with the choke off but when I tried to throttle it, it would die. Probably an air leak on the carb?

    I appear to have all three but it just won't fire.. Has anyone here ever gotten oil into their cylinder head. I can't believe it happened really. The rings should seal it from getting in there.
