That is probably true. The guy from Go Kart Alley I spoke to and he said he makes/cuts them out of white plastic waste paper baskets and then paints them to match. Great idea.

I totally agree when I was a paperboy couldn't wait to work on go karts and Mini bikes. Now it's all about playing on a smartphone and video games. Very few teach their kids how to do anything mechanical anymore, these kids now don't even know how to check /change the oil in a lawn mower.

Manco made them for Sears. As a kid I always wanted the orange karate kart. All of them looked so cool in the catalog. You have a real looker there as all these old school karts like this are getting very rare.

Thanks for the help. I have a friend of mine who will be doing the fab work. The purpose will be to lengthen the kart enough to sit and reach the pedals without being so cramped. Have u heard of this mod? Ok to do or will it ruin the value of the kart?
