    Carter model question

I agree. I guess I will stamp a number on it so it can be identified if it goes missing. It would have been nice if they at least put a model number I spent awhile looking at different model numbers to find a Manual for it and I am not sure if I have the right one Thanks

    40 series problems

I was wondering I was under the impression the driver with the nut out from the motor then the driven had to have the spring on the engine side. This is so the belt will ride straight up and not be pushed out of alignment?

Because the 2 on the post are worn. They are held in place with a split ring in a groove and the belt rides on them when idling and 2 for the spring. ---------- Post added at 08:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:56 AM ---------- Or should the shaft be bare under the belt.

    Help comet 40 series

Thanks Sid. I will order 4 bushings and a spring later this week. Do you know if the 3/4 adapter is welded or press fitted in or just rusted solid. I can't find any weld indications. The post is 1/4 keyed outside 3/16 inside for motor shaft

Turn the clutch on the motor around that will solve your problem. The moving plates work opposite of each other to keep belt centered.
