Can anyone tell me what size bolt to use on a clone 11hp with the 40 series? I would like to know so I don't have to guess when I go to the hardware store.

Ok so if I just remove govener, add air filter and exhaust how much gain do you think I will get? Also what is the best way to oil the UNI filters? I have a K & N in my Mustang and thats a PITA to clean and oil. Any tips would be helpful.

Is it true even with the govenor off it will only rev to 4300? I keep reading conflicting arguments about taking the govenor off and damaging the engine. I would like to get this right the first time and not ruin any engines.

OK I'm starting to think that upgrading to the bigger engine was a big mistake. I got the 40 series drive and driven units today. FIrst off I had to loosen all of the engine mount bolts to get the drive unit on. Once I got it on it seems like the shaft on the engine is too short? Is anyone else...

OK after spending many hours reading about the throttle cable hook up I've decided the best way to do it would be to remove the governer and use those parts to do it. Before I do that I would like to upgrade the valve springs. What are the upgraded springs for the gx340? What does it currently...

I ended up custom ordering one through BMI and they were very helpful. Unless your keyway is the whole length that would be a problem, also it would need to be retapped, I don't have the means to do that work.

Just curious how everyone is attaching their throttle cable? I did read through some of the posts regarding this subject but still not clear on where to attach it. Any help would be appreciated.

How do you take the jack shaft off? I'm going to take it off tomorrow and measure it, I'm thinking now that I may only have a 12" and I'm hoping that a 14" will do the job.

Was just looking at the jack shafts and I currently have a 14" and the next size up is a 19". Do you just put washers behind the driven unit on the jack shaft to push it out? How hard are they to change?

Any idea where I can get one?

Yes I will be replacing the entire system including belt. I hope that I will get good speed from it, but we will see.

Thanks for the info. I am planning on getting the 40 series because first of all I will be going from a 3/4 inch shaft on the old motor to a 1 inch. I just wanted to verify that the new 40 series would be compatible with my setup.

Yes it is, but from what I have read the 340 and 390 exhaust is interchangeable, was I wrong on assuming that?

I just bought a 11hp clone and wanted to know where I can get a better flowing airfilter for it? I looked around on Ebay but I'm not real sure which one I need.
