My bad, I guess this post was a bit misleading.:oops: I'm referring to the spacing between the jackshaft and the fuel tank is not wide enough, so I need to move either the engine over or shorten the jackshaft casing. I'm just wondering which is more structurally sound?

So I want to replace the centrifugal clutch with a torque converter, but there isnt enough width between the jackshaft and the engine for the driven. What should I do?

Also do I need to make threads on the outside, or do I just use a hose clamp?

That sounds do-able, what size end cap should I use?

It didnt have an air filter when I bought it, I should probably get one of those. Anybody have an ebay link to a briggs 135212 5hp air filter adapter? (The adapters for the cool angled air filters)

Flat off-road; my friend is making a track so that 3 of us can race each other. Also, this never had a torque-a-verter, but its a real pain to set up the torque converter. The jackshaft is 3/4, which means that I have to buy the driver and the driven separately (there are no 3/4" to 3/4" torque...
