I’ve got all the machining done, I have a handful of parts left to buy and final assembly. I’d say it’ll see some indoor action this winter, very possibly with a celebrity guest as a driver.

I think 500 will be fine for the short tracks I race on. I’m a bullring guy, besides, I can bore and sleeve in my garage, I’d have to send it out for nikasil

Exactly. I’ve been an auto mechanic for a living for 29 years, and they’re all just nuts, bolts, and parts. I only use the brand thing to aggravate people these days.

The ford purists would like yours a lot more than they like mine. I find it comical how angry they get over how I’m spending my money on my car.

It’s a ripper. It’s on 14psi, and I’d guess it to be right around 600hp

The wagon is pretty much done. I’ve already bought everything for it, and the truck is a fun little devil to run errands in

I’ll finish it and race it, but right now I’m sidetracked with my turbo LS pinto wagon, and my turbo LS S1-0

I have 13 acres on the lake, but it doesn’t lay well enough for a track. I’m not really interested in running one myself anyway because it’s mostly babysitting parents who think their kids have been cheated out of a life changing win. Our local track sold for $10k / acre, so I do t blame them...

I have to get the block and head cut for the o ring, then order a few things such as rockers, flywheel, and pushrods and then it’s just final assembly. I’m not terribly worried about the season started as I’ve gotten news that my favorite track has been sold and is closed. They got a really good...

I built one of the 223cc tillotsons into a race motor last year. It was a solid little unit until I raced at a track that I had never been to and missed the gear setup an overrevved it and yard sales the whole thing. I doubt I’ll build another dyno, it was a fun project but I figured out pretty...

The mailman brought my head back to me today. Big stainless valves, titanium retainers, massive ports, and a little added material to make the intake port go beyond where Honda intended it to. Just a handful of parts and this thing will be ready to go together.

    My sons intro to horsepower

If the piston is truly flush with the deck, I’d be hesitant to use a .009 head gasket. I like to try to keep about .030” piston to head clearance. There is no harm in using a higher octane than needed. It smells better, and if you can afford it, then it won’t hurt anything.

Once I get the head back I have to get the o ring grooves cut, I still need to get the gead gaskets cut, pushrods made, there quite a bit to do still.

The 96mm piston is significantly lighter than the stock piston. I haven’t weighed them, but you can feel the difference when you hold them in your hand. At 7500, the piston speed works out to 3400fos, which should be very safe.

Did a mock up and discovered that I’m going to have to machine some holes in the block to clear the billet rod with the stroker crank. time for some stroker patches.
