Thank you! We shall see soon (bought a full used tire set online to swap out) but I feel confident saying you hit it on the head.

No idea. I was wondering if the 3 bolt style wheels would fit and was hoping someone would chime and say that's true from their experience.

    Dry rotted struggles.

Same old story- bought a go kart off Craigslist and .... The tires are dry rotted and don't hold air. I'm having trouble finding what's on it (or anything in 5inch wheel for that matter). Fronts are 10x4.5x5 and rear are 11x7x5. Id like to snag some affordable tires in this size but have...

These wheels with these hubs. Same as what's pictured on the kart at the beginning of the thread.

My wheels have three pieces. 2 halves and a hub. What I'm talking about is putting a spacer between the two halves to widen the wheel itself. The only issue would be if the studs are long enough, if not get new studs. The same hub would be used so the spindle wouldn't need to be longer.

No because you would use the same hubs.

Thanks for the advice guys. What a wealth of knowledge. What I'd ultimately like to do is run the race tires for "rain" due to the different tread designs. Although not karting competitively they're pretty pricey but man would they look killer imo. I like offroad too much to commit to a true...

Sid nailed the description. Coming from someone with more experience than myself, why is it a bad idea and why does the kart style matter. Thanks for the replies guys.

My kart has split 5 inch wheels with the studded tires and tubes. I'd like to put some of the wide race kart slicks on it. My questions are... Can I use my wheels and put a spacer between them to get them to the correct width for the wider tires? Do race kart wheels and tires use tubes? Will my...

Yes the color is based off of the color from the 50s but my paint guy mixed it a little bluer than I like. We lengthened it 10 inches. I couldn't really fit on it before but it handles just fine as far as I can tell. The car is a 77 camaro with a 70 1/2 split bumper front end. We have...

The image makes the color look very blue but it isn't. We've used the color several times and thought it'd work on the kart. We were going to go back red but last minute decided to do something different but still bright. Thanks for the kind words.

New to the forum but have been around karts since I was a kid. Got out of the hobby but recently came across an old bird engineering kart in bad shape but did run. I teach collision repair so me and my students stretched it, done some metal fab, installed a new engine and finished it off with...
