Same old story- bought a go kart off Craigslist and ....

The tires are dry rotted and don't hold air. I'm having trouble finding what's on it (or anything in 5inch wheel for that matter).
Fronts are 10x4.5x5 and rear are 11x7x5. Id like to snag some affordable tires in this size but have entertained the idea of swapping to what seems to be a more popular 6 inch wheel but I'm not sure what I need, bc they hubs have 6 bolts.. not finding a lot of those.

So
Where can I get my current size?
What 6 inch wheels would I get.
Pictures of current wheels attached.

Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong section.
Thanks

No idea. I was wondering if the 3 bolt style wheels would fit and was hoping someone would chime and say that's true from their experience.

If you take those rims off your kart, I think you'll discover they actually do have a 3-bolt mounting patern, not 6. You can typically replace them with modern one-piece, 3-bolt racekart rims, that are avalible in your choice of 5" or 6" diameter.

Your rims look like they were made by a company called Van-K. They came in two halfs with a seal in between. They had a total of 6 bolt holes like yours, but only 3 of the holes were typically used with lugnuts to secure to rim to the wheel hub. The other 3 bolt holes just used a nut and bolt to help additionally secure the two halfs of the rim together...

You can find good deals on tires by searching ebay for the term "race kart tires".

Or if your town has a racekart shop, you can typically get low-cost (or sometimes free) used tires from them that are still in fairly good condition. Lots of kart racers replace their tires after just a couple days of racing, those used tires aren't usually wore out, they just replace them to get a little better grip on the track.

Here's a pic of Van-K, two-piece rim to see what I mean, and a chart you could use to determine if your replacement rims would need to have the Metric or US (3-bolt) patern.

Thank you!

We shall see soon (bought a full used tire set online to swap out) but I feel confident saying you hit it on the head.

When those racing tires and rims are new, they don't hold air all that well. It's the nature of the beast sort of.
