    Honda 200 three wheeler

The 200 is a reliable engine. Plastic fenders are expensive to replace, so if they are in good shape and it runs well, doesn't smoke than $550 is a deal. They are real fun when converted to a two wheels.

    GX390 Build

It's a mini jet boat hull, but I'm going to use a 12" propeller that will be tucked inside a tunnel to increase efficiency. I'm trying to build a light weight efficient boat that can go long distances and be able to take a beating. If I can pull this off creeks and rivers turn into roads...

    GX390 Build

Too many builds at once slows me down on this project. Most people leave the window solid aluminum, then use large seats to where there head is above the windshield. This makes wind drag and exposes them to the elements. This also raises the center of gravity and I've always been taught to keep...

I pointed out the wrong hole. Its this one. It looks like yours doesn't have it. They may have stopped doing that hole, because its literally drilled all the way through so oil leaks out.

    GX500 build

That little threaded hole on the side cover might leak oil. It did on mine. Took me a minute to find out where it was coming from.

Spending a couple hours each day on the bodywork. It was pretty lumpy after assembly, but with lots of sanding and some hammering its starting to come around.

    GX390 Build

A mirror finish would look awesome except the flat surfaces are so large the suns reflection burns eyeballs out. Just the finish on it now is too much in the sun. I've polished enough aluminum to know its a lot of work, and you can't even touch it without leaving a mark. Lake water oxidized...

    GX390 Build

Well, really the angle was good. Where I messed up was going too far in. If you look at the pic you can see a half circle sharpie mark on the fin. If I had gone through that mark I would have nailed it. At the last minute I second guessed myself and went deeper. With the valve I follow a step...

    GX390 Build

It was cut with a radius tool so it has a good amount of space, camera angle doesn't show it. Yeah I'm not too happy with the hole location, but thats where it landed. The valve seat has enough tension to hold itself in place so I feel its safe to run.

    GX390 Build

It will be interesting to see what it puts out. People claim all sorts of numbers on the web, and if I've learned one thing over the years most of the numbers people claim are usually far north of reality. So I will get to see for myself what these do on a properly tuned dyno. I spent part of...

    GX390 Build

Ive been meaning to get some work done on that head so I got to it today. Drilled the hole for the compression release. This is the third one I've done. The other two worked out, but this one had a little too much angle and it ended up right next to the valve seat. Its always a tough guess at...

This is a Mini Jet Inc. Avenger kit. I chose them over the others because this one looked lighter and it didn't have the top part of the windshield bent forward. I think they do that to keep water from splashing over, but thats the worst spot on any vehicle to put a forward facing lip because it...

    GX390 Build

Yes this will be for exploration of rivers and lakes. I kept taking a Zodiac to British Colombia to look for Slumach lost mine, but I kept having prop strikes on the river bottoms and sunken tree stumps. I needed a nuke proof boat that won't damage the prop. This boat was the answer. Most...

    GX390 Build

Still working on many projects and fitting this one in. Traded a old mountain bike for a crusty jet ski trailer. Took it all the way down and built it all the way back up. Replaced lots of parts and single staged painted the rest. The previous owner couldn't believe how it turned out. He said...

    Predator and chains...

I don't have the rivet tool so I carefully peened it with a hammer. Just have to give the chain pins a slight mushroom shape so the link won't fall off.

    Engine heat management question.

Paint will trap in heat and make an engine run hotter. Heat makes the parts distort and get out of spec, which makes drag and slows down an engine. I like to keep these types of engines running between 300 and 400 degrease Fahrenheit.

    Predator and chains...

Regina chain is much stronger, and its riveted so no master link to brake. Holds up to my 420cc when no other chain would.

    GX390 Build

Im learning just like everyone else. I have smart friends and a pile of books that help me build things. The best thing to do is get the engine breathing. The stock carb that comes with these engines is a restriction. Get a motorcycle carb. I like Dellorto they flow better than most and are...

    GX390 Build

Been consumed by work seven days a week for a month so I haven't had time for anything extra. I did take possession of the boat which took longer to receive than expected, but none the less it did arrive all in order. After looking over the pieces and all the work put into the kit I'd say its a...

My Weird obsession with stupid chinese four wheelers

I share the same feeling with the early 1980's honda trx125. They are little pack mules and fun to ride with bigger tires. Im up to three of them. I learned a long ago that little is better for tight trails.
