    go kart in the snow

Cut up an old set of skis and mount them in place of your front wheels. Find an old set of chains from a lawnmower and mount them on the rear tires. Guys with steep lawns use them for mowing. Maybe a set of strap on rubber, cable or rope emergency chains. Go red neck and wrap rope around the tire...

Thinking about modifying a Manco Dingo...

dingo roll bars cm, I just built a cage for the rear of my Dingo and I found that the tubing on the original cage parts were reasonably strong enough to serve as some protection. Wall thickness looked to be about .083". I also added a few extra pieces of tubing to strengthen a sideways...

    Trike

Pictures of a Trike built for my youngest son. My first attempt at something on wheels. I know it is pedal powered but it does have kart wheels on the back so hopefully thats ok for the site. Frame is made from scrap tubing pieces taken from the scrap bin at work. Front forks carved out of alum...

    Manco Dingo upgrade

Thought I would show a few pics of a Dingo that I am fixing up for my son's 13th b-day. Bought off of CL but it had missing rear cage, no brake caliper, broken support under motor plate and broken seat mounts. Welded and replaced missing parts. Made the rear cage to not extend as far out as the...

    Looking for a hobbie

I built a kart from scrap bent tubing from a fab. shop and bought the parts I needed from Princess Auto. Sprockets, chain, Torq a verter clutch, brake caliper and disc and rear axle flange bearings. I used an old ride on lawn mower as a donor for the wheels and had a machine shop make a rear...

Just noticed a sale on transaxles from http://www.smallenginedistributors.net/transaxles.html some of them are selling for $87.00 dollars, seems cheap or else I am reading it wrong. Didn't see any cheap 2 smokes for Russ though. www.smallenginedistributors.net FYI

    DFW Metro Man

Throw a factory reconditioned chain saw engine on it or a couple weed eater 2 smokes. Our local supplier, Princess Auto always seems to have a supply of Poulan chain saw engines in stock w/o the bar.

    DFW Metro Man

Wish you well on your venture. Was curious about welding or drilling thru the the spring steel. Assuming that it is spring steel, would it be better to use shackles instead of drilling two holes per side which may be creating an unwanted stress point?

    Articulated rear suspension

But if you want to try the articulating set up, you will probably need two link arms that form a triangle with opposite orientation to the axle triangle. Meaning that the point where they meet would have to be above the centerline of the rear axle and would have to be able to swivel, something...

    Articulated rear suspension

Hey Shaggy, why don't you check out www.trophykart.com or www.extremebajakart.com , both of these offroad karts are used for racing. Trophy karts use a solid axle on a swing arm with the motor mounted in the kart frame and Extreme Baja Kart uses individual swing arms like kenny mentioned.

    Brakes

Was wondering how jr dragster Tyler was going to hook up his caliper to the brake pedal. Is there a brake rod direct from the pedal to the caliper? If so, how are you actuating the small lever on the caliper being that the lever isn't hanging straight up or straight down so it is in easy access...
