Briggs air filter replacment / Oil change / Clutch

It's the meshed wiring. It seems it may cut off to much airflow, as the engine struggles when idling when the filter is attached, removing it, it runs fine. Should I just stick with the stock B&S airfilter replacement? Or is there something I can do to get alittle more air flowing in this thing.

Briggs air filter replacment / Oil change / Clutch

How do I measure the shaft? I just took the clutch off, which was very wobbly (it had multiple washers in front, which doesn't seem safe)
