Comer K80 with Tillotson carb won't start, floods

I guess you have probably given up now but I was just reading your tail of misery and I have a couple of ideas. My son has been racing gokarts for the last couple of years an we have used both tillotson and walbro carbys over that time they both work the same way so here is what I know: 1)...

Buying a used go kart for the first time help

Oh yeah that kart in good condition would do a bit over 70mph on the back straight (120 yards) at our local track.

Buying a used go kart for the first time help

I've bought a couple of second hand racing karts now and the advice about going to the track and talking to people there is very sound. Before you buy a racing kart you need to know your local licensing rules and kart classes. In some places there are restrictions on what class inexperienced...

    Daley's new gokart

Yeah I was there two weeks ago and saw some pocket bikes going around was that you guys? My 05 build got the boys interested. We take it for a burn from time to time on a local field. It's a good way to learn how to wind on opposite lock. But the AX6 is a whole new world. Just checked out...

Think you might have lost your independence to China with regard to manufacturing. We have in Australia

    Will this work out fine?

That's a really tall gear ratio. I don't think it will work very well. With regard to the rear sprocket, more teeth equals better acceleration and less teats equals higher top end speed. So you need to get the ratio right for you particular needs. Maybe a 60 tooth sprocket would be a good...

    2013 - Retro Vending

Yeah I used a caliper similar to this one. You might be able to get some ideas from my old posts "Greg's gokart project". But basically I replaced the bolts that hold the caliper together with ones about an 1 1/2" longer and fabricated a bracket to allow the caliper to slide on the bracket via...

What is needed to build a GSXR1000 sgifter kart?

I've seen these engines in purpose built hill climb open wheelers. They are normally about the size of a formula ford with wings and slicks. They are normally built by people with racing car engineering experience and they go like a shower of sh1t.

Removed my guvna. Bigger carb jet?

With and open header and a K&N style filter 36 thou is about right. You can also change the E tube but in my case the E tube didn't seam to make much if any difference. Like already suggested by toystory black plug to rich white plug to lean biscuit colour just right

help with throttle, kill and brake set up with pictures

When I removed the governor I reused a lot of the existing parts. I left the lever that comes out of the crankcase in place although I turned it slightly so the internal part cannot fowl anything in the engine. You will see what I mean when you split the crankcase. Some people remove these...
