I had misread. I thought you were bending the tab onto the outside of the disk, not onto the bolt.

So by slipping it into the keyway, it's essentially impossible for it to back itself back out?

Yep, that's how I did it. I just used some needle nose and hook to unlatch/re-latch it. I did. I went to Lowes and stocked up on screws/lock nuts/washers since I may need to get creative when I mount the motor and riser plate. I.e. some screws may be able to pass all the way through the 2" tube...

I rolled the top one on. The bottom one is the only one I stretched to get on. And even then it was just enough to latch. Yes. The actual springs aren't white though. They just sprayed a little white paint on them.
